Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can 14
- 5 oz diced tomatoes
- 1 jar 24 oz marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 package 19 oz frozen cheese tortellini
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish optional
Instructions:
Cook the ground beef in a pan over medium heat until it turns brown
Get rid of extra fat
Chop up some onion and garlic and add them to the pan with the beef
For about 5 minutes, cook until the onions get soft
Move the beef mixture that has been cooked to a slow cooker
Put in the chopped tomatoes, marinara sauce, dried basil, salt, and black pepper
Use a stir to mix
Put the lid on top and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours
Add frozen cheese tortellini in the last 30 minutes of cooking
Keep cooking the tortellini until they are soft
Shred mozzarella and Parmesan cheese and sprinkle them on top of the tortellini once they are done
Leave the lid on for a while to let the cheeses melt
If you want, you can serve it hot with fresh basil leaves on top
